About Us
My
name is Richard, Owner of Maine Sugar Gliders and primary caregiver and to all
our beautiful sugar gliders. I've been breeding and loving these sugar gliders
for 7 years. We reside in the quiet rural town of Augusta, located up north in
Augusta. We have has always enjoyed being around animals from a young age. I
breed, raise and handle all of our little sugar gliders everyday. I want the
best for all of the joeys that leave our home, and screen each potential owner
to ensure that. Each joey we raise is loved, and is instantly part of our
family. We have also become an unofficial rescue, as we will never turn away a
sugar glider in need of a home or proper care.
What's our Goal
Our Goal is to make sure that customers have good quality sugar gliders,
information to take care of a sugar glider, and to know when something is wrong
with a sugar glider.
This is my hobby, but at the same time it is my full time job. I spend a lot of
time educating potential owners, maintaining our web sites, and caring for them.
We have spend several hours each day bonding, handling, and playing with all of
our sugar gliders and their babies. Specializing in sugar glider color
variations, right know we have Greys, Buttercreams and Blackbeauties. Not only
do we consider color and genetics when pairing all of our animals, but
temperament as well. I am a firm believer that temperament in partially
inherited and partly learned from the parents. Not only does this apply for
sugar gliders, but in all animals. Although, by handling, love, and patience, I
believe most behavior problems can be corrected.
